On Assignment

I think it's common to go through periods of time when you feel like you're not taking the best pictures you can. I went through one of those periods a few weeks ago, but I told myself that it's amazing I get this opportunity to work for the IndyStar, and I better start taking advantage of it. I saw this silly tweet by a Twitter account that is supposed to be run by a dog. Each tweet is typed in a way that makes it sound as if the dog said it. One of the tweets was, "Today I will surpass "good" and be the best." 

While I don't think that 21-year-old me can be the "best" photographer quite yet, I know I can at least be better than "good." I tried to come to every assignment last week with that mentality.
